Asphalt RecyclingGovernment agencies worldwide are seeking methods of demonstrating their environmental responsibility to a demanding public. The Pyropaver 300E responds to that need in an extremely productive and highly cost effective manner.

  1. Recycling asphalt minimizes the demand on sources of oil, a non-renewable resource.
  2. Recycling asphalt minimizes the demand on sources of aggregate (gravel) which is also a non-renewable resource and becoming more difficult to acquire as existing sources are depleted.
  3. Recycling provides access to billions of gallons of petroleum contained in the asphalt on existing roads and highways. In the U. S. alone, the existing 4 million miles of roads hold a 270 billion gallon petroleum reserve.
  4. Recycling asphalt eliminates the need to dump old asphalt pavement in already overcrowded landfills. Dumping just one mile of old pavement into a landfill is equivalent to storing 3,000 crushed compact cars.
  5. The Pyropaver 300E's emission control system protects the air quality during operation. The preheater and units "A" and "B" have dedicated emission control systems.
  6. As recycling replaces pavement to original elevations there is no need to treat turn lanes or other less worn travel areas. This further reduces the need to utilize non-renewable resources such as oil and aggregate.
  7. As a hot in-place recycling system, the Pyropaver 300E system minimizes the requirement for asphalt trucks used with conventional systems to haul asphalt from the plant to the paver.
  8. The Pyropaver 300E system utilizes propane which is a much cleaner, more environmentally sensitive source of energy.
